20.00

Leafing through 14 years of Atlantide’s existence between photos, flyers and articles written by those who were there and those who played there.

Squatted in 1997 and self-managed by the lesbo-feminist collective Clitoristrix, the Antagonismogay group/Smaschieramenti Laboratory and the NullaOsta collective, Atlantide was a fertile field for grassroots critical analysis, promoting freedom and self-determination for women, political (self-)organisation and visibility for feminists and LGBTIQ, DIY and independently disseminated cultural contributions.

Atlantide becomes a worldwide landmark for DIY punk hardcore.

Description

Leafing through 14 years of Atlantide’s existence between photos, flyers and articles written by those who were there and those who played there.

“The shows were noisy and packed, the lights would constantly blow because the electric system was overloaded, it was hard to squeeze into the concert room, and often it was impossible to see who was on stage (what stage?). It was like falling into the eye of a vortex, being sucked into a wave and turned

upside down inside layers of bodies. The crowd tried to protect the bands from all that energy but didn’t always succeed. It wasn’t a problem: everyone was smiling and sweating, landing on someone else’s feet, jumping and hugging to stop whoever had fallen on you also hitting the ground, all floating together in a sea of heads and legs.”

Bologna, March 30, 2001. The NullaOsta collective organises its first show at Atlantide Occupata, a 70 square metres keep in downtown Bologna.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sfogliare 14 anni di punk hardcore in Atlantide tra foto, flyer e contributi scritti di chi c’era e di chi ci ha suonato.
“I concerti erano rumorosi e stipati, con la luce che saltava spesso a causa del sovraccarico dell’impianto, era difficile riuscire ad entrare nella stanza, era difficile riuscire a vedere chi stava sul (non)palco; spesso ci si trovava in un vortice, trascinati da un’onda e capovolti a testa in giù in mezzo a strati di persone.
Ma tutti erano pieni di sorrisi, pieni di sudore, pieni di pestate sui piedi, pieni di salti, pieni di abbracci per evitare che chi ti finiva addosso cadesse a terra, mentre la marea ti teneva a galla.”
Il 30 marzo 2001 il collettivo NullaOsta organizza il suo primo concerto all’interno di Atlantide, un cassero di 70 metri quadri nel centro di Bologna.
Occupata nel 1997 è autogestita dai collettivi Clitoristrix femministe e lesbiche, Antagonismogay/Laboratorio Smaschieramenti e NullaOsta che la caratterizzeranno come punto di riferimento per un’elaborazione critica dal basso, promuovendo libertà ed autonomia per le donne, visibilità politica e (auto)organizzazione femminista e lgbtiq, ma anche autoproduzione e distribuzione culturale indipendente.
Atlantide diventa punto di riferimento internazionale del punk hardcore.
E’ stata sgomberata il 9 ottobre 2015.
Questo libro ne documenta i 14 di vita.
